Delightful Poppy Seeds

” Be quick!” exclaimed I and hastily inserted my lenses to the camera. Fortunately, the weather promised to be sunny and not too hot, thus I had good light conditions to shoot poppy seeds. They were gracefully turning their heads to my camera in modest attempts to show their most attractive bends. Through my viewfinder I spotted their delicate fringe petals that were easily blown away.  Only their fluffy turbine-like heads were curiously casting a glance at you. It was tempting to make a closeup in black and white, there is something intriguing in all colorless pictures. It helps the photographer to go back in time when there was no alternative to black and white images. Do not click endlessly, just take delight in capturing the scenes. Maybe I am lack of technical skills, but I am in ecstasies about photographing the beauty surrounding us!

Dear Friends, I consider my virtual gallery as breakthrough in the exhibition world that helps people learn and enjoy art. I would welcome the chance to work with you. “Virtual reality represents a spatio-temporal illusion whose task it is to appear different from the ‘real’ spatio-temporal illusion created by universally adopted spatio-temporal conventions. Yet the most exciting experience of virtual reality is not so much the one that totally alters the viewer’s perspective on the real as the one that is able to expand, augment and enlarge the real. In other words, it is in its relationship with the real, rather than in its attempts to substitute itself for the real, that the most original use of virtual reality is found.” GABRIELLA GIANNACHI

We are very visual creatures.  Our love of images lies with our cognition and ability to pay attention. Images are able to grab our attention easily, we are immediately drawn to them. These are facts know to that two ladies whose pictures are just…help me with a proper adjective please? Comment, comment, comment…

Frozen Field

Don’t be greedy for compliments. These two artists were extremely successful today. Colors, shades, shapes are chosen so elegantly right. My eyes are beaming with pleasure, and yours? Not…hm…then one more image…

How odd is that the most beautiful things are most simple ones. They just wondered through that thick trees and enjoyed what they saw. Together with their simple equipment they managed to capture this innocent beauty and show to you. They felt themselves artists who can transform that live images into a picture that can hang on somebody’s wall or be presented as a greeting card. Do not know whether they were enough skillful, but their results are given here and available for download. In case some of you particularly like one of the image (or all of them) and would like to have then in original size or designed for special occasion as a greeting card, you may contact me via comment folder and I’ll provide you with all the required details ( I am their delegated agent). Everything is possible, art has no restrictions and borders. we can always spread it to be able to evaluate and treasure. A nice picture can always cheer you up in any season or weather, right, my Friends?

Because the landscape has always been an integral part of my life, I have developed a deep sense of belonging to nature rather than feeling apart from it or above it.

The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go

Mountains in my Heart

“The mountains are calling and I must go” (John Muir)

It is Monday and the beginning of new week full of challenges for us. Right? How are you doing?

Mountains I saw in Poland still haunt me. I constantly imagine them in my head and recall days spent next to them. The pictures presented in the postcard above are made  on the territory of the Tatra National Park on the way to Morskie Oko lake (be patient to see one of the most beautiful lake in the world). It was one of cloudy days that make you feel the mystery even stronger. It is a very big park with long distances to walk. Even the most demanding hikers can be satisfied, however, I shall not be so confident as I do not belong to their group. On the contrary, I am the laziest hiker who may choose a ride in the horse carriage other then a 9-km walk. However, dear hikers, do not frown, during my first time here I did conquer this route, thus have some faith in me. It was marvelous and I am still so proud of myself, though my feet were of the opposite opinion. Anyway, finding myself there again was so great I hardly can describe. High Tatras, a very clean and peaceful lake and…thousands of nosy tourists sitting, walking, making pictures everywhere and you have to go around lake somewhere further to the forest to find some place to eat your sandwich. Huh! This place is very popular among tourists, you probably won’t be able to stay there completely alone. Anyway, it is still charming and magical!

Mountains call me

I must go

Road is chosen

Swept off by nature flow

Yours Ann

Not Seriously About Serious Things

Mental Food Click

White Bloom.jpg

When you are under stress, pay particular attention to the need to nourish your soul with good foods. That is what I am planning to do now. I would like to feed you, my little Readers. Be good, put your business deeds aside, switch off your brain and let us think about art. I sit on the edge of your chair and we will have a small chat.

Bright Land

Money kills art. A real art. Probably you are wasting your talent somewhere in the office, because you have to pay your bills. You need to eat and feed your family. Your job is not where you can be creative. In fact, it can even kill any desire in you to create anything. It is a sad truth. You cannot let yourself always dream, since our biological clock ticks constantly without any stop (only if the battery goes wrong). Time does not stop. Hardly you can let yourself fly in the sky and dream what if, what if? You also may not have enough money to start doing what you like the most. If you are a musician, you need nice instruments and equipment. I live in a big city and use public transport every day, very often I meet musicians who play for money in transport or at streets. They are really great guys, very talented and professional. But who will sponsor them, who will invest in them, find them a good agent who can advertise them and show how everything works. Chances that some business man will be passing by and hear them are very few, as rich people do not go by public transport. Therefore, what else is left? It can be a pretty good practice for them as well. The more they practice, the better they sound. However, where does it bring them? Yeah, they are likely to earn some bucks and can have some fun; nevertheless, they are forced to come back to reality, ugly reality! The same happens with many photographers, film-directors, artists, actors, screen-players, writers, poets and many others.

Branched Tree

After being rejected by the world, you are still trying to find some happiness in real life. You play your songs for friends at parties. You make some photos while walking in the park. You write stories and share them at social networks. Sweet attempts of big dreamers to catch a glorious moment that can make us alive and free. Creative people are so weird. They hardly enjoy simple things. They always need more. Are you familiar with this feeling? Then, welcome to our League! Hopeless dreamers who believe in wonders! It is often said that the great dreamers are nice, but they are far from the world (or more bluntly, they would do well to land, one day). I wish I could bet, but I am not sure now! The more I look at the world, the less I understand. It works wrong and somehow not fair. At such desperate moments I need to have a break…

At The Peak.jpg

And go out. I need some fresh air for my too fast working brain. I am following my instinct, I am heading closer to nature. We are all the children of nature. Nature gives us extra energy and makes us feel better. Thus, I am here, in my park, where I like walking a lot. Weather is amazing, everything is blooming. There so many different colors that I am lack of right words to describe. But I am so happy like a child. My Nikki (photocamera) is with me, sitting in my hands, and I am smiling and excited because I will make a picture, no, I will make a lot of pictures. Several seconds before I was on the urge of big sadness, and now look at me – I am a bouncing ball. Here, at small piece of territory I feel myself like at home, which I know like the back of my hand. You also have such a place, your own shelter where you creative spirit feels the best, right? Tell me more about this place? Do not be shy! Such perfect places make us who we are. They change our dreams to reality!

Tulip Fever & Postcards Stories

Slow Down and Enjoy Your Life

Slow down and enjoy your life. It’s not only the security you miss by going too fast, but also where you are going and why.

Photohunting helps me to slow down and enjoy the moment I am chasing for. An every day almost routine life is too hectic and busy, you are lucky one to grab a minute and think about anything important or even silly, why not? Being able to do it I found myself staring at beautiful images of postcards. It seems to me that postcards have not their best time, since in the era of Internet who needs them. Why should we go to bookstore to pick up a postcard when we can easily do it with one mouse click? Moreover, why should we spend money on it? Postcards or greeting cards for every occasion are available for free in web. It is a pity, indeed. Since there is no link between you and a postcard anymore, you do not do it alone, there is an intermediary between you and your choice. And I even do not mention that fact that we forgot how to hold a pen in our hands, everything is typed. However, how about the originality of each handwriting? Typed letters look the same.  Yeah, there is much to ponder!

Painted Tulips

In 1861, John Charlton of Philadelphia created the first private postal card, called “Lipman’s Postal Card, Patent Applied For.” Government postcards came into the market in 1873. Postcards were novelties because of the pictures and designs that they used. In 1906, Eastman Kodak made a camera called the “Folding Pocket Camera” to create postcards out of photographs. Postcards were not used during World War I, as Germany was one of the main producers of postcards, and there were potential problems such as influenza epidemics spreading across country borders. However, advancing print technology brought about a new age of postcards after World War II. Postcards began to be printed in color, depicting pictures, historical buildings, national parks and exotic sceneries.

Tulips As Art .jpg

Will you believe that there was even “postcarditis” infection caught by many people in the world? Every town, city, and state had their own promotional card; every family counting itself among the middle or upper classes displayed on the parlor table an album bulging with different images.  They believed that their city is the most beautiful!

Tulip and Sunshine.jpg

Every postcard is unique, especially made on your own. Many of you, my Friends, are very talented and professional photographers who make excellent shots, thus your wonderful photos can be easily put into a postcard frame and delivered around the world. It is a good marketing tool. A postcard is better than something in an envelope.  People are fast. We see and read very quickly – actually much more quickly than we even realize. With a postcard, even if prospects throw it away, they already saw your message regardless of whether they think they did or not. They saw it enough to either throw it away or keep it or respond to it.

Trio of Tulips

How many times a usual postcard or a greeting card was used to show your gratitude. Countless. It was long ago before Internet existed. Certainly it took a long way to send a postcard to anyone, but imagine happy faces when the postmen deliver an envelope or a package with something inside…

Strips Tulip

How can you be content to be in the world like tulips in a garden, to make your every day bright and be good for nothing…

Life is Beautiful

Hugs to all of you!

Yours Ann

Seasonal Postcard Series (Magnolias)

Postcard Magnolia

The world before us is a postcard, and I imagine the story we are writing on it.

Back View.jpg

Hello, my dear little Friends, I have discovered  a new field for my inspiration – postcards. It is the unknown passion for me. I believe that postcards made with love is an artistic expression of our mind and heart. I would like to share with you mine! In case you like it and would like to have, let me know. Certainly the designer’s signatures and text can be deleted upon your request, and your own text will be added if required.

Postcard 2

“How lucky I am to see

The bloom of the white magnolia tree…”

Magnificent Magnolias

Oh beautiful Magnolia, you’re blossoming again.
It’s early Spring and there you are like you have always been.
Your glorious Spring time beauty is wondrous to behold,
But it is such a little while until your blossoms fold.

Postcard Pink Magnolia.jpg

It only seems a day or two from when you’re in full bloom
That petals start to flutter down and leave me with sad gloom
The reason I feel gloomy is that just once each year
I see your gentle beauty, then wait another year.

Pink Postcard

Upon this wondrous earth of ours are many lovely things.
In spring I marveled at the sights the kind your beauty brings.
Oh beautiful magnolia, you are by Heaven blessed.
Spring time has many wonders but you’re one of the best.

William M. Wismer
Postcards you can see
were designed by me
Happily inspired by a very beautiful tree…
