Travelling still means money…at least, for Ukrainians…

I bet many of you cannot afford a lot of travelling as it costs money. Yes, it is, and sometimes not small money, especially for Ukrainians who live for salary or, better to say, survive. Nowadays travelling, even if planned beforehand, means saved money that can be freely spent. I have a feeling that not everyone in EU or US can also have extra money for travel. Many of us have bills and credits to pay, thus we have to think before spending a hard-earned cent. However, world develops so fast that everything looks easier now. Have you ever heard of low-budget travelling?

That’s it. This seems to be a new concept that has already worked for many tourists. Not everyone is ready to face its disadvantages as cheap flights, snoring or noisy neighbors at hostels, and tiredness from long-walks. Let yourself imagine all the advantages of such way of travelling. The number one is that you will be able to discover the places that you saw only on the pages of your favorite travel guide. The second, not less important, is that you are likely to meet new people who speak different language, but with whom you will certainly make good friends. At last, you will experience the enchanted moments of face-to-face lovely talks. Social networks cannot replace face-to-face chats. Thirdly, while traveling on a low budget you will appreciate the little things such as hot meals, soft beds, transportation after a few hours of waiting. Finally, you will pass a test for any unpredictable situations and explore yourself. Some of you may fall in love even. That’s what low-budget travelling can offer you. It is not a perfect solution, but an option. The choice is yours. All I want to say is that our wishes must not have any restrictions. I vote for “nothing is impossible to a willing heart”.

 Where are you now, my Friends? Any news? I’ve got news – I am holding the proof of my book…

Waiting for your comments! Please, please…

Love you all,

Yours Writer

ANROALISTIC PHOTOJOURNEY TO NIEDENRSILL (INTRODUCTION)

My dear little Friends,

I am excited to announce a new series of posts based on my journal notes made in Alps. Everything I saw, felt, experienced, liked and disliked. Only my thoughts and only for you…

Niedernsille-6977

“When I travel I explore…myself. Curious wanderer. That’s how I would describe myself, my life right now. I have wandering soul hungry for a perfect place, an ideal moment, and a great shot. My wandering soul brought me there. A little village between Austrian Alps is not in the must-visit places, but I found there something that none of famous mountains resorts can offer me…”

And where is your wandering soul this summer?

I appreciate every comment and every like! I write because you read!

Let me know what you think of it?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. The most interesting thought will be rewarded in my every post!

Stay Healthy, Vegetables From Garden

Hello, my little Friends,

Summer is the best season for our health since the choice of vegetables and fruits is the largest one. So many vitamins in one plate. Who would know that cucumber is one of the oldest cultivated crop, originated mainly in northern India. Cucumbers are excellent source of vitamins K, C and different B vitamins. They are also very good source of sodium, copper, amino acids, carbohydrates, soluble and insoluble fiber content. It is no wonder that your skin will look great after smashing yourself with a piece of cucumber.

The word “radish” comes from the Latin “radix,” meaning “root,” and the Greek word “raphanus,” which translates to “quickly appearing”. Well, I did recognize it, radishes were the first in my garden! Radishes contain significant amounts of vitamin C and several other vitamins and minerals. I love radishes, they are my favorite red buddies!

Mister Onion is the main at my plate. Onions have been used as food for thousands of years; in ancient Egypt, they were worshiped and used in burial rituals. Onion helps killing microbes in your body, a good disinfector as well, not to mention that it contains a lot of vitamins and minerals! Onions kisses…muuah!

Stay in tune for more veggies and fruits from my garden and many fun facts about them!

The doors to my galleries are open for you Stock Photos!

Above Me Are the Alps

DSCN2608

My dear Friends,

Above me are the Alps and I found the way to get to them. I have never thought that I might be lack of right words to describe my feelings…but the time I saw them I couldn’t whisper a sound. I felt that mountains live in me, they are my vital part, I cannot live without them. John Muir said “We are now in the mountains and they are in us, kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pore and cell of us.” Lord Byron could not resist the beauty of Alps, so do I…

My thoughts are not gathered yet, I am like that castle in the center of the most beautiful and I am ready for a plunge…

Have a wonderful and inspiring week!

Love you all,

Yours Writer

Sushi Rocks My World

AnRoalisticBlog Top Story

Japanese cuisine became popular in my country not so long time ago. Within several years it was possible to observe how the menu of every second restaurant is replenished with  Japanese sushi, sashimi and rolls. They are being served not only at the Japanese-cuisine-type restaurants but also at any restaurant, pub, or café, which would like to attract more customers.

1

Through the West to the East

It is remarkable that such interest to Asian delicacies came to us not straight from Japan, but “through the West to the east“. Indeed! Firstly, Japanese exotic food was tasted in Europe and USA, and only then was found on the Eastern Europe countries’ plates. According to the Japanese phonetics one should pronounce “susi”, but having undergone a certain adaptation in the West, this name came to us as “sushi”.

This tasty food was founded more 1300 years ago.  Its name “sushi” (in Japanese 寿司 ), oddly enough, has no translation yet. Or, more precisely, there is such set of interpretation of two hieroglyphs that it can be successfully treated as both a «marinated fish» and a happiness wish. As often happens, any dish origin history is related to its way of storage.

2

Narezushi or Salted Fish

Sushi originates in a Southeast Asian dish, known today as narezushi (馴れ寿司, 熟寿司 – “salted fish”), stored in fermented rice for possibly months at a time. The lacto-fermentation of the rice prevented the fish from spoiling; the rice would be thrown away (how wasteful!) before eating fish. This early type of sushi became an important source of protein for its Japanese consumers.

Samurai, nigirisushi, sticks

The sushi master Dzhokhey (only representatives of Samurais had the right to use the surname) was the first one who cooked a rice ball, then added wasabi (the Japanese horse-radish was known as the best antiseptic) and covered it with a piece of fish. The dish was named as nigirisushi. Nigiri in Japanese means “handful” denoting the amount of rice that can be eaten at once.

People love eating sushi with sticks. Sticks are difficult in use for many, but not for those ones who learned how to deal with them. I shall say that Japanese cuisine offers food served mainly in the form of small separate pieces (sushi, sashimi) which are enough to be picked and put in a mouth. 3

Sushi are very low-calorie food. It would seem that sushi cannot do harm to health? At a first glance, everything looks pretty innocent – a small portion of rice, sea fish and vegetable ingredients. Let us take a closer look.

Sushi can be useful to our body as it contains:

sea fish includes fat-soluble vitamin D, a nutrient that most people are deficient in. It functions like a steroid hormone in the body. Researchers believe that the fatty types of fish are even more beneficial for heart health, because of their high amount of omega-3 fatty acids;

rice acts as fuel for the body and aids in the normal functioning of the brain. Rice is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals like niacin, vitamin D, calcium, fiber, iron, thiamine, and riboflavin. These vitamins provide the foundation for the body’s metabolism, immune system health, and  etcetera;

recent studies suggest that soy sauce may be able to provide some digestive tract benefits;

wasabi contains antimicrobial agents which are useful for eliminating bacteria. Due to its ability to block platelet aggregation, wasabi helps to reduce chances of heart attack and stroke;

ginger is the strong antioxidant and also an immune-stimulator;

However, one should always keep in mind that not all sushi ingredients are beneficial to our body. For example, nearly all fish have traces of methylmercury, a form of mercury that has neurotoxic effects, especially in developing brains. Salt-sensitive people should be careful with soy sauce since it is widely regarded as salty food, a tablespoon of soy sauce contains 1,000 milligrams of sodium. Also be aware of the fact that all seafood ingredients of sushi MUST be fresh.

To Eat or Not to Eat?

If you are not allergic to any of sushi ingredients and have no serious diseases, then go ahead and taste it. This food might “conquer” or not your taste receptors, but you will not remain indifferent. Nobody can tell for sure why Japanese people live longer than many Europeans, some say that the secret lies in their daily food habits.

Christmas Photography

Christmas is the most interesting topic to photograph. However, be aware that making pictures of your Christmas tree needs the knowledge of some details. I am not so experienced yet and I am learning how to do it.

ANN_4776

Outdoor photography at night requires a tripod – obligatory! It’s the only way to guarantee a crisp shot for your long exposures. It is recommended to forget your flash since your flash could interfere with the lights’ color.Now the main parameters.

Christmas-3

It is said that we should start with ISO as 400. If our photos are too dark, increase it, but know that any increase to the ISO will degrade image quality. Your aperture should be f/8. It is always good to keep in mind that the lower numbers bring more light, while the higher -less.

Christmas-4When you need more light, increase the exposure time (slow shutter speed). We have to use macro lenses with the lowest aperture. In case you would not like to use manual, then put your camera on aperture priority and set the lowest f number your lens will allow, for example f/2.8 up to f/4.6. When using aperture priority, make sure automatic ISO is turned off.    You do want to choose this setting yourself, so you can keep it to around 400 ISO. ANN_4778

However, the most important rule is just have fun while making pictures and preparing your greeting cards. If it is still difficult for you and you feel not sure In yourself, please feel free to contact me and I will present you any of these cute photos with your greetings or design the collage of your dreams for you!

Have a great weekend!

Friday 13, What’s Behind?

stock-photo-lamp-light-in-darkness-732187681.jpg

As I wrote in my book, Ukrainian superstitions sometimes seem to be weird and illogical. However, not all of them are meaningless. Besides mythical explanation, omens often are of large practical meaning. Let us talk about the origin of the most common ones. Oh, I feel that I am not alone now, some mystical spirits guiding my fingers on the keyboard. Ah!

Friday 13 makes Ukrainian shiver with fear. Popular superstition became widespread due to historical events. On Friday, October 13th, 1307, King Philip IV of France, in league with Pope Clement V ordered all Templars to be rounded up and thrown in prison. The Knights were accused of numerous crimes including heresy and treason. After a short court trial, all of them were burnt on fire. Thereafter this day is considered to be unhappy. Ukrainians (along with other nations) believe that bad news is delivered on Friday 13, and many important deeds remain to be unsuccessful”.

Are you superstitious?

Hope your Friday 13 will be lucky!

Transit Zone

Autumn-19

THEY have not SEEN each other for more than nine months. She left for the other continent last year. It happened three months before they firstly saw each other after a one year emailing. She could not miss the chance of her life – she headed for her dream come true. Their love seed has been already planted, they were unaware of it though. Months of web messages and no live chatting scared their longing souls who were left alone in the ocean of every day routine. Each one kept the non-lit love flame deep inside. And today finally she landed on his continent on the way home. Eleven hours between flights turned his weekend laundry time topsy-turvy – he needed to see her, he could not let this idea go. A million typical romantic airport scenes played out in his head. He was starving to hear her voice, and to see her blue eyes. The missing emptiness honeycombed his broken heart – he was feverish. The same hotel rooms were his only shelter from loneliness. An unknown feeling settled in his wounded heart, he did not give it a name, neither a meaning yet. There was no time to sort him out – life and work sucked up almost all his energy. However, today everything was different. A man of action after a lot of sleeping awoke in him. The last day of June presented him a date with that lovely girl who was sitting and waiting for him in the transit zone.

A cute blonde with misty light blue eyes could not believe she would see HIM today. That was a spontaneous gesture of him, which might mean something, yet she did not dare to wish more. He outsmarted to police, his administrative experience came in handy. For the first time in his entire life he left himself as a hero – a knight in his shiny armors. Girls do love fairy tales and always fall in love with that handsome knight who is ready for any deed. His imagination directed the best film scenes and then….time stood still, his hazel eyes were laid on her. For some endless moment silence in the air was so thick that they could hear only the beats of their hearts.

Autumn 🍂 Fibers

stock-photo-trees-with-yellow-leaves-in-autumn-forest-722249323

Autumn fibers were penetrating his body and teasing his mind with deep thoughts. Today he meets fall season alone. Jeremey could not stay at home at this shining September Saturday, he felt desperate for getting out and grab a piece of life. Among trees you can’t feel yourself fooled by people who always use you for favors and never befriend with you without second thought. While sitting in the cozy gazebo Jerey’s sensitive soul is in shelter from money eyes. He never took life easy and never for granted, but cruelty and heartless always amazed him to despair. Jerey knew you come to this life only once – every minute must be filled with love and respect to the slightest amazing detail. Though his eyes saw the opposite and his ears were ringing like alarm 🔔. Every book, every life story, every motion, every wish and every breathe find the same way towards profit. Classic and dangerous theme with slippery road where everyone drives crazily without rules. Jerey possessed a blessed sense of observation, he loved to collect the life moments. He always followed the river direction, never turned against. Franny, his wife, sometimes did not understand him fully, but she was in love with his emotional look at life. Her hubby was gifted. He did not write his books, he actually lived them. Jerey Writer was happy when his words seated comfortably in his head. A passionate writer and lover of life, he made love with his thoughts. Yet sometimes he wanted them more than her, and she get accustomed to it. Fran found her own delights – she painted and made love with her colors. Her painting brush made her blush, there were no prohibited strokes. Two artistic souls were together and, at the same time, each of them alone – happy in their own created worlds. They felt odd being humans, he wanted to become his printing buttons, while she – her painting brush…

FROM PAST TO PRESENT ONE CUSTOM

My dear little Friends,

I am happy to see you visiting my blog. Hope all of you are doing well and enjoy your weekend. I am a bit not too frequent blogger last days, but I have a serious accuse. My work on my book is steaming and coming to its final word, which makes my heart jump from delight. Moreover, I cannot refuse a little pleasure and share with you

some teasing fragments to gain your reader’s appetite. This is an excerpt from the last chapter of my book devoted to Ukrainian customs. Some fascinating description of one of the most mysterious holidays with roots from Pagan times (and do not forget to look at my shutterstock gallery where there are many new images https://www.shutterstock.com/g/anrostudio?language=en:

“My sweet Reader, in summer we have one more holiday, which may be particularly interesting for you as it is not so popularized and talked about, but absolutely beautiful and even mysterious. At night (July 6-7)  Ukrainians dive to water to celebrate Ivana Kupala. This holiday is related directly to water and the sun, and is celebrated on fresh air. I see your hungry faces – I will tell you all I know.
It is impossible to name the exact date of this holiday now. Somebody assumes that its first recall falls to XII century, however, its story goes deep down. The majority of researchers are of the opinion that this holiday existed from the early period of family-tribe relations. The talk is about the ancient trypilska and skiff-sarmatska cultures, i.e. the day of Ivana Kupala was celebrated minimum three thousand years ago, which is confirmed by many archeological excavations.
It is certainly known that for Slavs Ivana Kupala’s day was not the only entertaining holiday, but the basic concept of their Slav’s world. The point is that in ancient times this holiday fell on Midsummer day – 20th of June according to the old style. Heavenly body attains its maximum peak and power reminding about the fact that time turns to winter and the nights get longer. Slavs were obstinate sun-worshipers and could not accept the situation, and therefore the tradition of making large fires became their salvation. It was believed that the sun feeds on new energy so that darkness cannot win. At present, Ivana Kupala holiday is the bright example of interlacement of pagan and Christian customs, which is tightly related to the day of John the Baptist that is celebrated July 7 complying with the new style.
In accordance with the tradition at Ivana Kupala’s night, many various rites were performed. And even today Kupala’s night is found to be one of the most powerful when everything around fills with healing and magical properties. The main forces are water, fire, and herbs.
Mass bathing is one of the main rituals of Kupala’s day. It was reckoned that at this day evil spirits vanished from lakes and rivers so that people could swim without being afraid. Slavs also believed that at this time water was of some magical power that helped you to clean your body and soul from evil. Those ones, who lived far from any water source, used home saunas and baths.
One of the peculiar features of Kupala’s night is cleaning fires. The old custom to jump through fires is still one of the most popular favorite entertainment. Girls and boys who jumped the highest were expected to be happy and live long lives. Also was deeded that this-day-fire could deprive of illnesses and diseases.
Ivana Kupala’s night is indeed the magical holiday. Slavs believed that even plants and animals could speak at this day. People were haunting for different plants and herbs that are found to be magical. It is the holiday of many beliefs and expectations, Ukrainians still follow its main rituals and add new ones to enjoy it to the full!”
