2017 is the year of Japan in Ukraine. Thus, Ukrainians have a unique chance to get to know more about Japan and its culture. I was particularly lucky to visit Japanese Gardens which are presented right in the city. I felt very inspired by the seen. There is no single element or design component indicative of or required for a Japanese garden. The simplicity of Zen design is often the main finished attribute of a Japanese garden, which encompasses peace, calm and serenity. Varieties of design elements are generally incorporated to achieve the full effect of a traditional Japanese garden. Have a look:

Wonderful post! My wife and I are both Ukrainian, and the funny thing, our daughter’s favourite pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World, is the Japanese pavilion. She loves everything Japan, their culture, anime (Hayao Miyazaki), the works. Cheers!

I am intrigued by Japan too, so enjoyed this very much. Does Ukraine pick a different country every year?

Yes, almost every year, we have a country to pick, sometimes, it can be that several countries during one year. Isn’t it exciting? I enjoy such creative ideas. Thank you so much for watching!

I love the Zen style, too, Ann, and would definitely like to visit Japan. Japanese gardens are fascinating and what a great idea to have one in Kyiv. It’s a wonderful way to help people to learn about other cultures. We have a small, permanent Japanese garden only a few miles from where I live. It’s owned by a Japanese couple who run a Meditation Centre and the garden is very popular with people from all over the country. A lovely video, Ann. Thank you for posting it.
